# Usage

> GET /v1/usage: checks used in the current period.

```
GET https://api.checkobot.ai/v1/usage
```

Checks used in the current period (calendar month, UTC).

```bash curl theme={null}
curl https://api.checkobot.ai/v1/usage \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $CHECKOBOT_API_KEY"
```

```json 200 response theme={null}
{ "plan": "api_starter", "period": "2026-10", "used": 1204, "quota": 5000, "remaining": 3796 }
```

`remaining` is `null` on plans without a fixed allowance (Enterprise).

## When the allowance runs out

There are no overage charges. Once a month's checks are used up, every call returns `429` with `quota_exceeded` until the allowance resets on the 1st (UTC). Web checks on the same account count toward the same allowance.

A batch needs enough checks left for all its images. If it doesn't fit, nothing is counted and the error says how many are left.

To keep going before the reset, upgrade on the [billing page](https://checkobot.ai/dashboard/billing); the new allowance applies straight away. See [pricing](https://checkobot.ai/pricing) for each plan's allowance.
